Nursing assistants help patients with activities of daily living like eating and bathing. Nursing assistants, sometimes called nursing aides, provide basic care and help patients with activities of daily living. Orderlies transport patients and clean treatment areas. 

Home health aides tend to shower patients with love and care to help promote healing and overall well-being. They are responsible for taking care of patients who are suffering from chronic illnesses or disabilities, or are elderly and need continuous care while living at home.

What does a pharmacy technician do? A pharmacy technician works closely with a pharmacist to ensure the health and safety of their patients. They locate, dispense, pack, and label a prescribed medication for a patient that is then reviewed for accuracy by a pharmacist before dispensed to the patient. 

Phlebotomy technicians collect blood from patients and prepare the samples for testing. Most work in hospitals and clinics, but some collect blood for donation purposes. Phlebotomy technicians are important members of the health care team and often need to explain the blood-drawing procedure and put patients at ease. 

PCTs help patients with procedures such as taking vital signs, performing electrocardiography (ECG), blood draws and other needs. In addition, a PCT will: provide bedside care and advocate patients' needs. interact in daily communication with patients, nurses, doctors and patients' families. 

Medical billing and coding is the process of identifying diagnoses, medical tests, treatments, and procedures found in clinical documentation and then transcribing this patient data into standardized codes to bill government and commercial payers for physician reimbursement. 

Most medical laboratory assistants analyse samples of body tissue and fluids taken from hospital patients, including blood, urine and faeces.
